Louisiana Public Broadcasting received the Alfred I. duPont Columbia Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism for Episode Five of the six part Louisiana: A Hisory Series. The award was presented by the Journalism School of Columbia University, New York. Additionally, the series received a CINE Golden Eagle Award; a Suncoast Emmy Award; Seven Telly Awards, a New York Film Festival Award and the University of Louisiana's James Rivers Williams Prize for achievement in the field of Louisiana studies.
